Animals are a big part of our collective visual language. Piggy banks, lobster carnival costumes, cow children’s parties, etc. Animals make us happy. This is in stark contrast to the other function of animals in our daily lives: factory farming. Artist Bart Eysink Smeets tried to underline this hysterical contradiction with 5 images in his photo series ‘Love Animals’ for the Symbio Foundation.
